Mystery Legends: Sleepy Hollow

WINNER! Best Hidden Object Game of 2008! All small towns have their secrets and stories, but none such as Sleepy Hollow, whose legends are most grim and gory. By day a quaint village full of sunshine and banter, by night a place haunted by hoof beats and spectral laughter. Explore Sleepy Hollow as never before, searching for clues into the ancient legend. But beware; each night the Horseman rides, he takes another victim. Unravel the mystery before it`s too late…

It was great fun to explore the sleepy hollow also; the art draws you in. The theme isn't all that dark, and wasn't scary as far as I went. You can play timed or untimed which is a plus. Yes it is almost purely HO the way that they used to be before they became too confusing and that is what I like about it. I wish that the manufacturers would create more like this for those of us who prefer this type of game play. This might only have been because it took a lot of time for me to find all of the hidden items. I have purchased hundreds of games on Big Fish over the years but these two are by far the most enjoyable ones I have ever played. That's way, I give it five stars because this game is good for my lazy time and I love the storyline. Played through it several times. Hints can be increased by finding jack-o-lanterns, and hovering on the hint shows you the silhouette of the item, which is very helpful for finding some things. You get involved because of the story line; and the Headless Horseman commentary is great. About scared me half to death the first time, lol. It's fun and involved, You have to really search but it's worth it in the end. My yr-old grandson would be bored, because he likes more challenge.

Come on Big Fish listen to your players. Great for a rainy, dark night! Music relaxing during game play. Bought it and played it 4 times through trying to better my score. The game provided enough clues to prevent you from becoming stuck mouse over shape and pumpkin hints. Storyline fantastic loved it as I like all sleeping hollow stories. The other incredible game on Big Fish is the first Madam Fate This is, by far, the best Halloween-themed game I've ever played! Fun, season-appropriate, logical storyline with good English ; good mix of easily-found items along with harder ones, but there are adequate hints as well as helpful silhouettes when needed; flawless game play. I look forward to the next part but wish it was included in this version. Simply fantastic. This might only have been because it took a lot of time for me to find all of the hidden items. Has some twists you don't expect, but if you think you solved it think again.

Also the objects are way too small sometimes to find so I would suggest like a magnifying glass or something Legend:s that nature to help out and the puzzles to solve the mystery should be more entailed. Btw, thanks dev! It still took a lot of time to find everything. There has never been another game like this one in years. I have played this game over and over and have enjoyed every time. I have Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season hundreds of games on Big Fish over the years but these two are by far the most enjoyable ones I have ever played. The graphics were great. Whenever you went into the same place again, Hoplow were always new clues to be found. But it held together well, and focussing each chapter on a single suspect was a nice twist.

Because of the silhouettes, I think kids could do this one even if they wouldn't know all the items. My only real complaint is that they haven't made a sequel Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by lswhite from Excellent for Halloween This is my first time posting a review but I had too. Every scene keeps you on your toes. So glad I found it for my Mac! The other incredible game on Big Fish is the first Madam Fate It's fun and involved, You have to really search but it's worth it in the end. I liked that there was little distortion in the HO scenes. I love this game and have replayed several times. I find the HO scenes challenging in a good way - clever and satisfyingly difficult. Please note that I play without sound or music, so I can't comment on those. Yes it is almost purely HO the way that they used to be before they became too confusing and that is what I like about it. I look forward to the 12 Labours of Hercules IX: A Heros Moonwalk part but wish it was included in this version. The total emersion into the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the sharp slicing sword sounds, the excellent and chilling voice acting, even the evil looking pumpkins - this games drips with dread and shuddering terror, as the wicked victims get their gratifying comeuppance. Great for a rainy, dark night! Background graphics are clean; HOG scenes and objects are photographic rather than hand drawn, and not so dark that you have to fiddle with monitor settings. No more or less challenging than others. 1. Played through it several times. Just felt I got short changed even though I did buy at discount. HO fans will probably overlook these things but I moved on to a different game. Has some twists you don't expect, but if you think you solved it think again.

  2. Stemmed glass, weed hook, etc. So glad I found it for my Mac! My yr-old grandson would be bored, because he likes more challenge.

  3. Every scene keeps you on your toes. This might only have been because it took a lot of time for me to find all of the hidden items. I haven't read the story of sleepy hollow, so i'm not to sure how close to the original story the intro and the characters are but if it is close this would be a great way of teaching the litterary classics to the next generation, i just which that the trial period hadn't ended because i didn't find out what happened to Lady V, so it looks like i either have to buy the game of find a copy of the book so i can find out. No more or less challenging than others.

  7. After you hear the same "scary" line, it becomes irritating. I find the HO scenes challenging in a good way - clever and satisfyingly difficult. Also, quite similar to Whisper Valley.

  8. Have replayed it 4 times now. I love this kind of HOG which doesn't involve 'back and forth' but uses the same scenes but with randomly different objects. Just felt I got short changed even though I did buy at discount.

  9. You get involved because of the story line; and the Headless Horseman commentary is great. The other gripe is the annoying voice that cuts in every 30 seconds or so to tell you that you're doomed. Also the objects are way too small sometimes to find so I would suggest like a magnifying glass or something of that nature to help out and the puzzles to solve the mystery should be more entailed. At least I found it so. Loads of fun.

  10. I found the silhouette outline helped me a lot without having to use a hint I live in a rural area where the download speed is excruciatingly slow. Played through it several times. Have replayed it 4 times now.

  11. Every scene keeps you on your toes. This is a great, enjoyable game and I highly recommend it. Whenever you went into the same place again, there were always new clues to be found.
