Back in the main area, click on the large empty gold mirror frame towards the back on the left to trigger a puzzle. Return to the Scorched Room. The HOS es are well built with really capturing visuals. Click on the hidden object area over the fountain in the distance. Click on the crate on the left to open it and reveal a close-up area. Enter the portal. Upon completing the puzzle, click on the GEAR to add it to your inventory and read the letter beneath it. This section is covered as the last chapter of this guide. Admittedly, it's heavy on the snake theme, but I wasn't repulsed by the snakes at all; they actually managed to make them somehow very beautiful, even though they are the villains in this story.
